Digital technologies are opening new horizons for artistic expression and collaboration, according to Colin Siyuan Chinnery, co-founder of the Sound Art Museum in Beijing. Speaking at the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Beijing on Friday, Chinnery highlighted how innovations in technology are transforming the way art is created and shared.
“Digital tools have enabled new ways of creating museums, sharing information creatively, and fostering collaboration,” Chinnery said. “These technologies break down barriers, allowing artists from different backgrounds to connect and work together in unprecedented ways.”
Chinnery, an influential figure in the Beijing art scene, emphasized the importance of embracing digital advancements to enrich cultural exchanges. “By leveraging technology, we can make art more accessible and engaging, especially for younger audiences who are tech-savvy and eager to explore new forms of expression,” he added.
The Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting gathered artists, scholars, and policymakers to discuss the role of culture and technology in promoting mutual understanding across nations. Participants explored how digital platforms can facilitate dialogue and bridge gaps between diverse communities.
“Art has always been a universal language,” Chinnery noted. “With the aid of digital media, we can amplify that language, reaching people around the world and inspiring collaboration across borders.”
