The coastal city of Ningbo is making waves as it hosts the prestigious China-CEE International Regatta at the Xiangshan Asian Sailing Center. Until May 25, sailors from 36 elite teams representing 14 countries are battling it out on the high seas in a display of skill and sportsmanship.
World Sailing Vice President Tomasz Chamera hailed the event as a perfect fusion of top-tier competition and cultural exchange. “This regatta not only showcases the talents of international sailors but also fosters meaningful dialogue between different cultures,” he said.
The opening ceremony was a vibrant affair, featuring traditional Chinese fishing drum performances and dynamic dragon dances. Participants were treated to a vivid showcase of local maritime heritage, highlighting the rich traditions of Ningbo’s coastal communities.
“It’s incredible to experience such a unique blend of sport and culture,” said one of the international sailors. “The hospitality and the performances have made this event unforgettable.”
The China-CEE International Regatta is more than just a sailing competition; it serves as a bridge connecting people from diverse backgrounds through a shared love of the sea. As the races continue, spectators can look forward to thrilling moments on the water and lasting friendships forged onshore.
