China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng Welcomes U.S. Financial Firms to Expand in China

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with Dan Simkowitz, Co-President of Morgan Stanley, in Beijing on Wednesday. The meeting highlighted China’s commitment to deepening financial cooperation with the United States.

He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China’s dedication to promoting high-quality development through high-level opening up. He stated that this approach will invigorate both the Chinese and global economies.

“We welcome more U.S.-funded financial institutions and long-term capital to actively participate in the construction and development of China’s capital market,” He Lifeng said. His invitation signals an open door for U.S. financial firms like Morgan Stanley to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China.

Dan Simkowitz expressed optimism about the progress made in recent U.S.-China economic and trade talks. “We are pleased with the substantive advancements and will continue to focus on the Chinese market,” Simkowitz said. He added that Morgan Stanley aims to provide high-quality services to promote investment cooperation between U.S. and Chinese enterprises.
