Hundreds of delegates from BRICS nations gathered at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the inaugural Dialogue of Civilizations Series (BRICS Edition) this Friday. Under the theme “Strengthening BRICS Cultural Exchange Bonds to Empower a Bright Future for the Global South,” the event aimed to deepen cultural ties among Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Over 300 participants, including experts, scholars, renowned athletes, and youth representatives, attended the conference. They engaged in vibrant discussions on how cultural exchanges can bridge distances and foster collective progress.
“Cultural dialogue among BRICS nations is not just about sharing traditions; it’s about uniting our visions for development,” said a youth representative from India. “By understanding each other’s heritage, we can work together towards a prosperous future for the Global South.”
As BRICS cooperation enters a new phase, attendees emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual exchange and learning. They expressed optimism that enhanced cultural interactions would make “BRICS+” cooperation more sustainable and impactful.
“The unity of our countries goes beyond economics; it’s rooted in our shared values and aspirations,” noted a scholar from South Africa. “By embracing our diverse cultures, we can create a warmer and more cohesive Global South.”
The Dialogue of Civilizations Series aims to become an annual platform for BRICS nations to collaborate on cultural initiatives, fostering stronger bonds among the youth and paving the way for collaborative development.
