Chinese Premier Li Qiang has affirmed China’s support for Arab nations in strengthening unity, self-reliance, and choosing development paths suited to their own national conditions. In a meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Wednesday, Li emphasized the deepening ties between China and Arab countries.
“China and Arab countries are trustworthy friends and good partners,” Li stated, highlighting that their relations have entered the best period in history. He expressed China’s willingness to enhance strategic mutual trust, deepen cooperation across various fields, and work together towards modernization and building a higher-level China-Arab community with a shared future.
Li underscored China’s readiness to align development strategies with Arab nations and advance high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. He proposed expanding collaboration in areas such as energy, trade, investment, aerospace, new energy, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and the blue economy.
The Premier also called for enhanced people-to-people exchanges, including youth and cultural interactions, and stressed the importance of facilitating personnel exchanges to strengthen bonds between the peoples of both sides. He emphasized the need for coordination on international platforms like the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the World Trade Organization, and the Group of 20 to promote a more just and equitable global governance system.
Li expressed hope that the Arab League would continue to play a significant role in advancing China-Arab relations and ensuring the success of the second China-Arab States Summit next year.
Secretary-General Aboul-Gheit reciprocated the sentiments, acknowledging China as a good friend and partner of Arab countries. He noted the fruitful results of practical cooperation and affirmed the Arab side’s firm support for the one-China principle and initiatives proposed by China.
Aboul-Gheit expressed gratitude for China’s support in the economic and social development of Arab states and conveyed readiness to deepen political mutual trust and cooperation in trade, investment, and people-to-people ties under the framework of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. He emphasized the importance of multilateral coordination to safeguard multilateralism and promote world peace and development.
The meeting reinforced the commitment of both China and the Arab League to strengthen their partnership and work collaboratively for mutual benefit and global stability.
