Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for high-quality development of major national projects in Xizang Autonomous Region, emphasizing the importance of ecological conservation and improving the livelihoods of local people. During his inspection tour from Friday to Saturday, Li visited key sites to promote economic and social development in the region.
At the construction site of the Sichuan-Xizang Railway project in Nyingchi City, Premier Li highlighted the significance of the railway in boosting Xizang’s development and enhancing the well-being of its diverse ethnic groups. He stressed that quality and safety must remain top priorities to ensure the successful completion of the project.
Describing the Yarlung Zangbo hydropower project as a “project of the century,” Li urged the adoption of advanced technologies, equipment, and materials to support its high-quality construction. He emphasized the need for strict ecological protection measures to prevent environmental harm, aiming to make the project a landmark of sustainable development in the new era.
In Lhasa, the capital of Xizang, Premier Li visited a modern agriculture demonstration zone, where he learned about the development of the region’s agriculture and animal husbandry industries. He underscored the importance of leveraging Xizang’s unique plateau resources to drive economic growth and increase incomes for local residents.
Li called for efforts to enhance the demonstration and promotion of new technologies in agriculture and animal husbandry, striving for breakthroughs in high-altitude breeding practices.
