Gaza City—An Israeli air strike on Gaza has devastated the family of Dr. Alaa al-Najjar, a dedicated medical professional who was on duty treating patients when tragedy struck. Nine of her ten children were killed in the attack that reduced her home to rubble.
The eldest of the children was just 12 years old. Dr. al-Najjar, a pediatrics specialist at al-Tahrir hospital within the Nasser medical complex, was tending to victims of the ongoing conflict when she received the heartbreaking news.
“I heard a deafening blast that shook the entire area,” said her brother-in-law, Ali al-Najjar, speaking at the site of the incident. “By the time I rushed over to their home, it had been completely destroyed.”
A representative from Nasser hospital confirmed that one of Dr. al-Najjar’s children and her husband were injured but survived the attack.
The air strike is part of escalating tensions in the region, leading to significant civilian casualties and widespread destruction. Residents are calling for an immediate end to the violence to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
