Russia has commenced rehearsals for its grand Victory Day military parade, marking the victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russia’s term for World War II.
On Tuesday, the first rehearsal took place, setting the stage for the main event scheduled on May 9 in Moscow’s iconic Red Square. The parade is a significant annual tradition, commemorating the Soviet Union’s triumph over Nazi Germany in 1945.
Two additional rehearsals are planned for May 3 and May 7. Military units, tanks, and aircraft will perfect their formations, showcasing Russia’s military capabilities and honoring the sacrifices made during one of history’s most pivotal conflicts.
