Explosions were reported in several areas near Tehran on Friday evening, causing concern among residents. According to the semi-official Mehr News Agency, a blast was heard near Pakdasht city, southeast of the capital. The explosion may have been linked to air defense activities around the Parchin military site.
Separately, loud explosions echoed through Malard and Shahriar counties, west of Tehran. The sources of these blasts have not yet been determined, Mehr reported.
Meanwhile, Iran’s state-run Press TV announced that Iranian air defenses had shot down an Israeli drone near the Fordow nuclear facility, close to the central city of Qom. The incident has heightened tensions in the region, although Israeli authorities have not commented on the report.
The downing of the drone and the unexplained explosions have raised concerns about security and defense readiness. Investigations are underway, and authorities are expected to provide further details as they become available.
