Shanghai—In a significant milestone for global maritime and automotive industries, the world’s largest car carrier, Anji Ansheng, was officially delivered on Thursday afternoon at the Shanghai Haitong International Automotive Terminal.

Constructed by SAIC Anji Logistics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, the vessel boasts an impressive capacity of 9,500 vehicles. Equipped with intelligent low-carbon technologies and the ability to utilize carbon-neutral fuels, Anji Ansheng sets a new standard for sustainable maritime transport.

“Anji Ansheng represents our commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility,” stated a representative from SAIC Anji Logistics. “Its strong loading capacity and high energy efficiency mark a significant advancement in ocean-going car carriers.”

The vessel is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage to Europe on Thursday evening, carrying approximately 7,000 domestically produced new energy vehicles, including models from SAIC’s renowned MG brand.
