Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a heartfelt congratulatory letter to mark the opening of the 20th Western China International Fair in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The event, which kicked off on Sunday, serves as a significant platform for enhancing global cooperation and sharing development opportunities in the Chinese mainland’s western region.
In his letter, President Xi emphasized the fair’s focus on expanding high-level openness, deepening regional exchanges and cooperation, and advancing the construction of a modern industrial system. He highlighted how the fair promotes a new development paradigm and facilitates the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
“Unity fosters shared success and collaboration drives common progress,” President Xi asserted. He expressed China’s willingness to use the fair as an opportunity to further mutual understanding, strengthen friendships, and deepen cooperation with nations around the world.
President Xi also underscored China’s commitment to upholding the multilateral trading system and ensuring the stable and smooth flow of global industrial and supply chains. He noted that these efforts would inject new impetus into the prosperity and development of the world economy.
The fair, themed “Deepen Reform For More Momentum, Expand Openness for Greater Growth,” is hosted by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. It aims to foster international collaboration and provide a gateway for countries to engage with the dynamic opportunities emerging from western China.
